Hollywood Walk of Fame

Day Four continued & Finale

After leaving the Mission san Luis Rey, we went to a small restaurant nearby.  We were supposed to go there and eat lunch, but due to the traffic problem, we had to head directly to the mission.  I had the lime pie.  It wasn't as good as what a bunch of us enjoyed in the Florida Keys the year before, but it was still good.  SueZZZ and I decided to ask Guy, jr. what his dad's favorite dessert was.  He said that it was Key Lime Pie and Lemon Meringue Pie.

After the stop here, we went to Rita's house, where she had a big smorgasbord of salads, sandwiches (some of the meat was grilled, yum), and the most wonderful Z cake I have ever seen.  I took a video of it, but not a still.  Did someone cut that cake with a sword?  I can't remember.   We watched Zorro tapes, caught up on list emails on Rita's computer and just enjoyed each other's company.  It was very late when we left, but it had been so satisfying.  Thanks so much, Rita, for your hospitality.

People had been leaving for home, first in small numbers and then in larger groups, by the time Sunday arrived.  Sunday and Monday was a day for packing and last minute get-togethers for those who were left.  Several of us went over to the Magic Castle, just up from the hotel, (thanks, Julia).  It was so fun.  I am very appreciative of all who shuttled me around, Ginger, Maureen Gest, Wendell, Paddie and Bonnie Brooks.  This trip was so very special, so memorable and too quickly ended.

I will never forget this time.  Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

Below are some more pictures taken during our days in Hollywood......

I couldn't help it, I called this picture Maureen on the rocks.  (Maureen Gest) This was in that narrow area that everyone slipped through in the "Secret of the Sierras."   This is in the Bell/Berry ranch area.

I really like this shot of Wendell taking pictures.  Ellie took it.

Kathy Gregory, one of the main organizers of the events during and after the star ceremony.  This picture by Ellie was taken at the Golondrina.                                                      I am greatly indebted to her, Guy, jr., Kathy Clements, Kathy Nance, Wendell, Bonnie and all of the others who did so much to make this happen.   I know I have left out some names.    Please let me know if I have missed anyone.
